Northrop Grumman is seeking a Vehicle Engineer (Level 3/4) for spacecraft operations in Colorado Springs, CO. This role involves providing mission operations support, system problem resolution, data trending, performance analysis, and leading anomaly investigations. The position requires shift work, on-call support, and a Top Secret clearance. Responsibilities include modifying procedures, coordinating maintenance, performing risk analysis, and communicating with customers. Experience in satellite operations disciplines and troubleshooting is required, with preferred qualifications in specific subsystems, programming languages, and advanced operations.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide mission operations support to Satellite programs including on orbit vehicle/sustaining engineering.
  2. Support activities such as system problem/anomaly resolution support, data trending, operational product updates, and performance analyses
  3. Lead/Coordinate other systems engineers to conduct anomaly review board investigations as necessary.
  4. Investigation and diagnosis of unexpected system signatures
  5. Support operations readiness activities including configuration control board and other customer meetings

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years (level 3) or 8 years (level 4) of relevant experience
  • Active or current Top Secret Clearance with the ability to obtain SCI
  • U.S. citizen
  • Knowledge and experience in satellite operations engineering disciplines
  • Previous experience with troubleshooting, anomaly resolution and performing analysis on operational systems
  • Experience writing technical documents for external customers
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to make decisions under high pressure environments

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related STEM field
  • Leadership experience within a diverse team of engineers/operators
  • Experience working on government systems and/or government process environment
  • Experience with at least one S/C Subsystem (ADCS, CDH, COMM, EPDS, Thermal, FSW).
  • Support mission simulation, scripting, and verification activities.
  • Proficiency with one or more of the following programming languages/tools: MATLAB, Python, SIMULINK, Fortran, Java, C/ C++
  • Experience with rendezvous and proximity operations (RPO) or formation flight
  • Background/fundamental understand of performing statistical analysis
  • Experience operating Tactical Space Systems bus product lines
  • Experience using Tactical Space Systems ground software products
