What you'd actually do

  1. Lead day-to-day operations and vehicle movement across multiple US destination rail ramps to ensure shipping schedules align with distribution plans.
  2. Partner with yard operators and car haul carriers to develop and execute daily lift plans, keeping ramp inventories strictly below standard targets.
  3. Monitor daily vehicle dwell times for all VINs at assigned ramps; proactively identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to keep dwell times below target.
  4. Manage expenditures to reduce premium freight spending and ensure budget compliance.
  5. Analyze transit data using Freight Verify and other logistics platforms to identify network bottlenecks, reduce Time In Transit (TIT), and drive network efficiencies.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, logistics, Material Planning or related degree; or a combination of equivalent experience and education.
  • 2 plus years of experience in Logistics Experience: Proven experience in Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) or supply chain operations.
  • 2 plus years of experience Manufacturing/Plant Awareness: A solid understanding of plant operations and automotive manufacturing workflows.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence and ability to regularly present operational updates and strategies to Senior Leadership.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills, with a proven ability to make independent decisions, handle complexity, and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to positively influence change and work collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

  • 4 plus years of experience in Logistics Experience: Proven experience in Material Planning & Logistics (MP&L) or supply chain operations.
  • 4 plus years of experience Manufacturing/Plant Awareness: A solid understanding of plant operations and automotive manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience using Power BI, data mining, or other analytics tools to build dashboards and interpret complex datasets.
  • Prior experience managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers, yard operations, or carrier contracts.
