Vendor Manager for Amazon Canada's Hardlines division, focusing on managing P&L, strategic negotiations, driving business growth, and innovating within the category. What you'd actually do

  1. Managing a full P&L, including planning, forecasting and driving growth for a category or subset of vendors, possessing a complete understanding of internal and external variables that impact the business.
  2. Setting goals and strategic direction for the business, ensuring alignment with broader business goals and vision.
  3. Driving strategic negotiations with external vendors.
  4. Generating and implementing big ideas to drive business improvement, innovation, and scale within the category and across the retail business as a whole.
  5. Leading cross functional collaboration on necessary systems and processes to support business needs, including retail systems, site merchandising and in-stock.

Skills

Required

  • 5+ years of retail, operations, product or program management, or business management/consulting with negotiations and delivering results experience
  • Experience with financial analysis and P&L ownership
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice to have

  • Experience managing large data sets and utilizing to drive performance and process improvements
  • Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
  • Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences.
