Netflix is seeking a VFX Manager for their Southeast Asia and Chinese Language content slate. This role involves overseeing VFX from development to delivery, partnering with content and production teams to enhance quality, operational excellence, and production innovation. The manager will shape strategy, tools, and methodologies, ensuring projects meet schedule, budget, and quality standards. Responsibilities include providing creative and technical leadership, managing production execution and vendors, driving innovation in virtual production and emerging technologies, and contributing to operational and strategic impact through data-informed decisions and regional capability building.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide early VFX guidance across scripts, treatments, budgets, and pitches.
  2. Oversee VFX breakdowns, bidding, scheduling, and show health across multiple titles.
  3. Lead adoption of Virtual Production workflows where appropriate (LED stages, real-time tools, on-set visualization).
  4. Monitor emerging trends, talent developments, and technological shifts in VFX.
  5. 10+ years of experience in VFX supervision, production, or management across film, series, or high-end streaming.

Skills

Required

  • VFX supervision, production, or management experience
  • Managing complex, multi-vendor VFX productions
  • Experience working across Southeast Asia and/or Chinese-language markets
  • Strong understanding of CG, compositing, asset/shot pipelines, on-set VFX supervision, and Virtual Production tools
  • Ability to give clear, creative feedback while safeguarding the schedule and budget
  • Exceptional communication across creative, technical, and executive teams
  • Strong problem-solving orientation
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced production environments

Nice to have

  • Fluency in one or more regional languages (Mandarin, Thai, Bahasa Indonesia)
  • Knowledge of AI-assisted workflows or emerging production technologies
