Chewy is seeking a Video Content Director to lead at-scale content creation for marketing campaigns within their in-house Studio creative team. What you'd actually do

  1. Direct a mix of complex, multi-channel marketing campaigns and lower-tiered, templated video projects in partnership with our Studio Production and Studio/Marketing creative teams.
  2. Participate in all stages of the video production process ensuring the creative concepts, visual direction and execution align to stakeholder briefs and Chewy Brand Guidelines
  3. Partner with creative team of Art Directors specialized in video, photography, and post-production to create emotional, impactful and culture-oriented content for Chewy.
  4. Translate story boards and scripts into shooting boards, treatments, set direction, casting and music direction, and work with studio partners and departments to execute the vision.
  5. Direct pet talent and human talent to create brand storytelling.

Skills

Required

  • 4+ years of experience in video and post-production
  • 2+ years of experience as a content director/video director
  • Demonstrated understanding of the entire video production process
  • Working knowledge of video and digital cinema cameras
  • Proficiency with software applications used in a creative studio
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment

Job Description:

Our Opportunity:

Chewy is looking for a **Video **Content Director to join our in-house Studio creative team based in Plantation, FL. The studio is looking for an exceptional hands-on storyteller to work with our Marketing and Studio production teams to direct our at-scale content. From the hand-off of the creative brief, this visual storyteller will help oversee on-set content creation and collaborate with a dynamic team of creatives, producers, videographers, pet wranglers, photographers, as well as our art and post teams to get the job done. The ideal candidate will be collaborative, engaged, and have a passion for our industry as well as a desire to learn and create. You must be able to quickly adapt to unique production situations that support our e-commerce studio.

What you'll do:

  • Direct a mix of complex, multi-channel marketing campaigns and lower-tiered, templated video projects in partnership with our Studio Production and Studio/Marketing creative teams.
  • Participate in all stages of the video production process ensuring the creative concepts, visual direction and execution align to stakeholder briefs and Chewy Brand Guidelines
  • Partner with creative team of Art Directors specialized in video, photography, and post-production to create emotional, impactful and culture-oriented content for Chewy.
  • Translate story boards and scripts into shooting boards, treatments, set direction, casting and music direction, and work with studio partners and departments to execute the vision.
  • Direct pet talent and human talent to create brand storytelling.
  • Provide clear direction to staff and freelance video production teams in preproduction and on set.
  • Work with the Post-production team to plan and shoot projects involving motion graphics and VFX.
  • At the direction of the Creative Director, maintain brand guidelines, design standards, and visual consistency within video projects.

What you'll need:

  • 4+ years of experience in video and post-production, with 2+ years of experience as a content director/video director within an agency, production company or in-house studio.
  • Must love working with pets and animals of all shapes and sizes.
  • Highly creative with proven examples of brand marketing content created for site and digital channels.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the entire video production process, including concepting, directing talent on set, shot composition, shot list writing, lighting design, and post-production.
  • Working knowledge of video and digital cinema cameras, including DSLR and mirrorless cameras (Sony, Canon).
  • Proficiency with software applications used in a creative studio, such as but not limited to Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office tools, and Google apps.
  • Able to receive feedback and creative critiques from stakeholders and various team members and handle with grace.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; a team player, positive attitude, and problem solver.
  • Proven ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, reacting with sound judgement and often without specific direction.
  • Exemplary time management skills – demonstrated ability to set priorities, utilize resources, stay organized, lead a production crew, and meet deadlines.
  • An art school or liberal arts (4 year) degree is preferred.
