Virtual Software Modeling Engineer

AMD AMD · Semiconductors · Austin, TX · Engineering

Develop Fast Platform Models that simulate the software-visible behavior of AMD's next-generation SoCs, GPUs, and I/O technologies. This role is AI-native, leveraging AI coding models and agentic development tools to accelerate the design, implementation, verification, and debugging of complex virtual platform models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Architect and develop high-performance C++ functional models of AMD SoCs, IP blocks, and platforms.
  2. Utilize AI coding tools and agentic development workflows to accelerate model implementation, verification, debugging, and optimization.
  3. Work closely with architecture teams to understand specifications and accurately model new hardware designs.
  4. Improve the functionality, stability, scalability, and performance of existing models.
  5. Develop tests and verification methodologies to ensure model correctness and software-visible accuracy.
