Figure AI is seeking a senior engineer to own the visual interface for their humanoid robot's teleoperation system. This role involves architecting and implementing low-latency, high-fidelity data streaming from the robot's vision to the pilot's VR headset, ensuring a high-quality teleoperation experience. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in VR systems, passthrough, video encoding/transmission, and developing VR environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Architect the vision system from the robot to the pilot to ensure high quality teleoperation.
  2. Design and implement low-latency, high-fidelity bidirectional data streaming between the robot and the headset.
  3. Ensure consistent and stable data transfer in a variety of environments, wired and wireless.
  4. Use off-the-shelf VR headsets to design and build the interface for the TeleOp system.
  5. Develop strategies for visualizing the state of the robot and its environment.
