Voice System Administrator (sa1) (government)

This role is for a Voice System Administrator supporting government mission-critical communications. It involves hardware engineering expertise for voice and network systems, including deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring systems meet high reliability, security, and performance requirements. The position requires experience with Cisco Unified Communications and networking fundamentals, with a strong emphasis on supporting structured, compliance-driven environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provide preventative and remedial hardware maintenance to ensure system reliability and availability.
  2. Deploy, install, and implement hardware solutions in operational environments.
  3. Analyze documented and derived system requirements to prepare hardware specifications.
  4. Configure and document computers, networking devices, servers, storage systems, and peripheral equipment.
  5. Identify system issues, validate root causes, and ensure solutions fully satisfy user and mission requirements.

Skills

Required

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Systems Administrator
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Systems Security Engineering, or a related discipline (or 5 additional years of experience)
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Cisco Unified Communications environments (CUCM, CMS, UCCX, Unity)
  • Strong understanding of networking fundamentals
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Proven ability to coordinate with project management, security, asset management, and customer support teams
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills
