Welder - 2nd and 3rd Shifts

Operates welding machines to join components for fabricating products and assemblies using stainless steel and other alloys, following specifications and blueprints. Requires one year of welding experience in a production environment and the ability to pass welder qualification tests.

What you'd actually do

  1. Follows set-up guidelines and procedures to assemble and tack weld unit by using various tools (i.e., drop chains, chain hoist, metal shims, wedges, lifting lugs, “C” clamps, bar clamps, com-a-long, cutting torch, grinder, tape measure, fixtures, weld gauges, etc.)
  2. Sets the weld machine to correct setting for the weld application.
  3. Welds unit according to print specifications following guidelines and procedures.
  4. Demonstrate safe job procedures which include but are not limited to: Personal Protective Equipment, Uniform Care, Weld Fume Extraction, Fall Protection, and the use of Lifting Devices.
  5. Ability to inspect your own work including quality checks utilizing weld and attribute gauges and other measuring tools.

Skills

Required

  • One year of experience welding in a production environment
  • Beginner level proficiency reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Ability to pass welder qualification requirements

Nice to have

  • Minimum of two years of experience welding in production environment
  • Welding certification
  • Previous welding experience using mild steel, 304 stainless steel, and/or 409 stainless steel
  • Previous experience working with tooling/modular tooling (Bluco Tooling)
