Associate Wire Installation Engineer role at Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Mobility & Surveillance (M&S) Division, supporting the P-8 program and other M&S products. The role involves integrating across the production value stream to execute post-production modifications and standard production wiring for aircraft. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining wire harness designs, analyzing results, supporting design reviews, and providing engineering dispositions on discrepancies. Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or related field and 2+ years of experience. Security clearance is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Develop and maintain cable/wire harness detail and assembly designs.
  2. Analyze results and support design reviews.
  3. Develop and maintain electrical product detail, assembly, and installation designs (e.g., equipment racks, power panels, cabinets, cable routing and geometry, antennas).
  4. Provide engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., troubleshooting, rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests).
  5. Follow documented processes, specifications, and procedures supporting the design and manufacture of electrical commodities.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry.
  • 2 or more years of related work experience.

Nice to have

  • Experience with Model-Based Definition tools such as CATIA V5, SolidWorks, Siemens NX, ENOVIA, and PDM.
  • 2 or more years of experience working in cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and release electrical system installation and wire harness engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and effective verbal and written communication.
  • Experience in electrical wiring design, wiring installation design, equipment installation design, systems and wiring architecture, FAA/EWIS/military certification, electrical fabrication, and electrical production line support.
  • Familiarity with electrical system design principles, wire separation requirements, EME considerations, and relevant regulations.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to program tools and procedures.
