Workforce Development Partner (contract)

Joby Aviation is seeking a Workforce Development Partner for a 6-month contract to build a pipeline of skilled manufacturing talent, focusing on partnerships, apprenticeships, grants, and training programs to support aerospace production growth.

What you'd actually do

  1. Establish and cultivate partnerships with trade schools, technical colleges, workforce development boards, and industry organizations to build a steady pipeline of qualified manufacturing candidates for Joby.
  2. Develop, implement, and coordinate recruitment and talent pipeline initiatives including facility tours, manufacturing career fairs, hands-on skills demonstrations, and guest speaker engagements.
  3. Secure workforce development grant funding and coordinate grant and training reimbursement initiatives to support manufacturing workforce programs.
  4. Coordinate workforce development programs — including apprenticeships, internships, and structured on-the-job training — designed to funnel participants into manufacturing roles at Joby.
  5. Work closely with the manufacturing and training teams to align workforce development initiatives with production staffing needs and hiring timelines.

Skills

Required

  • 3+ years of professional experience in workforce development or technical training
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Passion for education, technical training, and community engagement
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to track and coordinate multiple programs
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to read and speak English proficiently

Nice to have

  • Program management or project management experience
  • Experience in aerospace, composites, or electronics manufacturing
