Yield Development Engineer

This role focuses on yield development engineering in semiconductor manufacturing. The engineer will identify root cause yield limiters, perform statistical analysis, develop visualizations, and construct process development roadmaps. They will develop methods to consolidate and analyze big data sources, understand defect modes, and model yield. The role involves extracting insights from data using statistics, machine learning, and coding techniques, and developing systems to transform data into yield improvement actions. Responsibilities also include ensuring manufacturability, executing new product introductions, collaborating cross-functionally, performing fault isolation, and developing measurement recipes and equipment.

What you'd actually do

  1. Provides process development direction throughout the whole lifecycle of a technology node by identifying root cause yield limiters.
  2. Performs statistical analysis, develops visualizations and presentations to construct accurate process development roadmaps that drive technology yield milestones.
  3. Develops methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze diverse big data sources, establishing optimal methodologies for defect mode understanding and yield modeling, leading to accurate yield Pareto construction and process roadmap definition.
  4. Extracts insights from structured and unstructured data by quickly synthesizing large volumes of data, and applying statistics, machine learning and coding techniques.
  5. Develops tools, multivariate algorithms, and methodologies to perform high-volume data analysis to identify root cause yield limiters and identify key process changes to advance yield improvement.

Skills

Required

  • B.S. degree in engineering or science discipline with 3 years experience in yield engineering or M.S. degree in engineering or science discipline such as Physics, Material Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering , Mechanical engineering
  • Statistical process control (SPC) and design of experiments (DOE) principles
