AI Performance Simulation Architect

Tenstorrent Tenstorrent · Semiconductors · NORTH AMERICA · Performance Model

The role focuses on architecting and building scalable cycle-accurate AI accelerator performance models to inform hardware design and optimization. This involves defining abstraction layers, leading performance modeling, and integrating models into larger simulation environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Architect and develop simulation environments for AI systems—spanning accelerators, NoCs, and memory hierarchies.
  2. Define and implement abstraction layers, from high-level analytical models to detailed simulations using tools like GEM5 or SST.
  3. Lead performance modeling and bottleneck analysis to guide architectural design and system optimization.
  4. Lead integration of the AI accelerator performance model into a larger heterogeneous simulation modeling environment to examine system performance.
  5. Deep experience with parallel programming (OpenMP, MPI, CUDA, OpenCL) and system analysis tools.
