Business Development Representative

Smartsheet is seeking a Business Development Representative to generate sales pipeline and drive revenue growth by prospecting into relevant accounts, engaging and qualifying potential customers, and setting the tone for the sales cycle. This role involves outbound prospecting via email, LinkedIn, cold calling, managing sales engagement campaigns, recording activity in Salesforce, and monitoring the social web for opportunities. The role requires 1+ years of SAAS or relevant sales experience, CRM experience, and fluency in German and English.

What you'd actually do

  1. Generate appointments by independently identifying companies and contacts that would be a good fit for our services and making decisions to reach out to them via email, linkedin, cold calling and/or using our other sophisticated software sales tools
  2. Independently create and manage multiple outbound sequence campaigns in our sales engagement platform
  3. Record and document all activity in Salesforce.com
  4. Monitor the social web for opportunities and leads as well as participate in outbound social marketing initiatives
  5. Leverage taught sales techniques to maximise prospect interactions

Skills

Required

  • 1+ years SAAS or relevant sales experience
  • Salesforce.com or similar CRM experience
  • Sales engagement platforms, Outreach/Salesloft experience
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced startup environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to adapt and execute new sales and qualification strategies
  • Ability to create leads and opportunities from individual prospecting efforts
  • Legally eligible to work in Germany on an ongoing basis
  • Fluency in German & English is required

Nice to have

  • Experience selling to the DACH region is highly desirable
