This role is for a Business Development Representative (BDR) at Toast, a company that provides technology solutions for restaurants and local businesses. The BDR will be part of a founding team for the Toast Retail platform, responsible for generating leads, qualifying prospects, and scheduling meetings for Account Executives. The role emphasizes high-volume outreach, customer empathy, and a drive for results. While Toast uses AI tools internally for various functions, including sales support and hiring, this specific role does not involve building or developing AI/ML models.

What you'd actually do

  1. Generate lists of prospective convenience stores, grocery stores, bottle shops, and other retailers to target.
  2. Execute high-volume outreach to a mix of prospective businesses to determine mutual fit.
  3. Conduct qualification calls to develop an understanding of the prospect’s needs and determine how they can benefit from leveraging our Retail solution.
  4. Schedule meetings with qualified prospects for Account Executives, ensuring a seamless handoff and a smooth sales process.
  5. Partner with Account Executives on strategy, talk tracks, and feedback.
