Director of Growth Creative to lead the creative vision that powers Instacart's growth. This role blends compelling storytelling with data-driven strategy to create work that resonates and converts across all paid and owned channels. The director will harness real-time analytics, experimentation, and AI to unlock new levels of creative innovation at scale, build and inspire a team, and architect systems and workflows for high-volume creative production.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and lead a world-class creative team: Grow and mentor a multidisciplinary team across performance design and copy. Set the culture and operational standards for high performance.
  2. Own performance creative direction: Set the creative direction across Paid and CRM channels in partnership with marketing. Ensure your team consistently delivers creative that unlocks growth and lowers acquisition costs.
  3. Drive AI-led transformation: Integrate AI and automation into every stage of the creative workflow. Increase throughput, reduce manual work, and empower your team to focus on high-leverage creative thinking.
  4. Architect the creative engine for scale: Design workflows, pipelines, and systems that enable production of thousands of ads per week in partnership with program management. Implement tooling, automation, and processes that increase velocity, diversification and quality simultaneously.
  5. Scale creative globally: Build the systems and teams required to deliver locally relevant creative across international markets while maintaining consistency and efficiency.

Skills

Required

  • 10+ years leading creative teams in performance marketing, growth, or digital advertising
  • at least 5 years managing multi-disciplinary teams at scale
  • Proven experience building and scaling large in-house creative organizations that support high-volume performance advertising
  • Deep understanding of performance creative dynamics across Meta, TikTok, YouTube, Search, CRM, In-App and emerging channels, including how algorithms evaluate and reward creative
  • Demonstrated ability to design workflows, systems, and processes that unlock speed, operational efficiency, and creative excellence
  • Strong track record of integrating AI tools and automation platforms into creative production to increase throughput and reduce manual work
  • Experience leading global creative operations, including localization strategies, regional workflows, and culturally relevant creative development
  • Exceptional ability to translate performance insights into clear strategic creative direction that teams can execute against at high velocity
  • Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional partnership skills
  • Comfortable operating in fast-moving, experimental environments where volume, speed, and quality must coexist
