Apptronik is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop electronics for their Apollo humanoid robot. The role involves designing, simulating, implementing, and testing multi-layer mixed signal PCBAs, rapid prototyping, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The engineer will also be responsible for validation, testing, and debugging hardware and software issues, ensuring compliance with performance specifications and regulatory standards.

What you'd actually do

  1. Design, simulate, implement, and test multi-layer mixed signal PCBAs.
  2. Rapid prototyping of electrical systems at both system and board levels.
  3. Simulate and verify electronics and electrical system requirements.
  4. Generate design documentation such as schematics, block diagrams, test plans and procedures, fabrication and assembly drawings.
  5. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including software, mechanical, thermal, systems engineers, and manufacturing.

Skills

Required

  • Familiarity with CAD tools including Altium or similar tools.
  • Proven experience designing, prototyping, and debugging PCB/PCBAs.
  • Familiarity/experience with electronics lab tools and simulation tools (ex: LTSpice, PSpice).
  • Excellent communication (verbal & written); will be expected to develop detailed build assembly instructions and diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and hardware debugging skills.
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing, including the use of lab equipment.
  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience designing electronics for lightweight, space-constrained systems
  • Experience implementing embedded systems on robots and troubleshooting hardware
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as AI accelerators or quantum computing is a plus
