Electrical Engineer - Motor Controls (dexterity)

Apptronik is seeking an Electrical Engineer specializing in Motor Controls for their humanoid robot, Apollo. This role involves owning the entire lifecycle of electronics for robotic end effectors, from ideation to mass production, including design, simulation, testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Experience with prosthetics, wearables, motor drives, and compliance testing is preferred.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the development of complex electronic components and sub-systems.
  2. Design, simulate, implement, and test multi-layer mixed signal PCBAs and wiring harnesses.
  3. Rapid prototyping of electrical systems at both system and board levels.
  4. Simulate and verify electronics and electrical system requirements.
  5. Generate design documentation such as schematics, block diagrams, test plans and procedures, fabrication and assembly drawings.

Skills

Required

  • Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent
  • 4+ years of experience in electronics development
  • Product lifecycle management
  • CAD tools (Altium or similar)
  • Designing, prototyping, and debugging PCB/PCBAs
  • Electronics lab tools and simulation tools (LTSpice, PSpice)
  • Communication (verbal & written)
  • Problem-solving and hardware debugging skills
  • Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing
