Engineering Manager, Hardware Integration

Apptronik is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Hardware Integration for their humanoid robot, Apollo. The role involves leading a team responsible for integrating physical subsystems, managing wiring and harness design, calibration, and developing hardware-in-the-loop testbeds. The ideal candidate has a strong background in robotics hardware engineering and team leadership.

What you'd actually do

  1. Lead and mentor a specialized team of engineers and technicians focused on the physical integration and assembly of complex humanoid robotic systems.
  2. Direct prototype hardware integration, guiding the team through physical assembly, initial power-on, and the transition of new hardware designs from the bench to the platform.
  3. Own all aspects of Wiring and Harness Design and Integration, ensuring robust, manufacturable, and reliable power and data distribution across the entire platform.
  4. Develop and release calibration schemes to ensure the robot's physical assembly is precisely aligned with its digital and control models.
  5. Collaborate with mechanical and electrical design teams to ensure sub-assemblies are optimized for modularity, ease of integration, and long-term reliability.

Skills

Required

  • Electrical Engineering degree
  • 6+ years of hands-on hardware engineering experience
  • 2+ years in a direct management or technical lead role
  • Deep, hands-on expertise in the design, routing, and manufacturing of high-density wiring and cable harnesses.
  • Direct experience managing complex BoMs and hardware versioning
  • Systems Thinking
