Experience Designer, Offline Design

This role focuses on designing Airbnb products for guests, with an emphasis on applying experience design expertise to ensure quality at scale. The Experience Designer will create playbooks, set quality standards, prototype new product categories, design learning journeys for hosts, and educate internal teams on impactful experience design. The role requires strong creative direction, user-centered design, and cross-cultural fluency to create authentic global experiences.

What you'd actually do

  1. Create playbooks: Test products while using research and your expertise to define best practices for various formats to uphold quality at scale across the product.
  2. Quality standards: Hold a high standard of quality, with an ability to clearly articulate criteria and reasoning.
  3. Prototype: Design and prototype new categories of products to test and prove out hypotheses.
  4. Design for various audiences: Partner with the host community team to create learning journeys for hosts based on experience design.
  5. Educate partners: Train internal teams on how to use the work to design impactful experiences at scale.
