Responsibilities
The Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting Lead Accountant will be responsible for: ● Lead the global/cross brand accounting activities for Lease accounting and Fixed assets accounting including Internally Developed Softwares (IDS) / Cloud Computing Arrangements (CCA). ● Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders Directors, Sr. Directors, Project Managers, FP&A, Controllership within Finance and across the brands. ● Oversight of global transactions and processes for Fixed Assets & Lease Accounting, ensuring compliance with accounting policies. ● Act as a SME collaborating to drive operations, engagement and development with a large group of stakeholders located in diverse worldwide locations (BHI, Brands, COE). ● Guide the team in handling and solving complex bottlenecks and issues, for all matters impacting fixed assets & lease accounting. Own final issue resolution for items with potential global impact. ● Monitoring and reviewing the month-end closing activities to ensure accurate and timely accounting records are maintained, including the review of monthly journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations. ● Sign off on the quality and integrity of the balance sheet and profit and loss accounts for and the variance analysis for fixed assets & leases globally and complete the overall (global/cross brand) analysis. ● Sign off on the regular and timely preparation of all required financial reports and schedules for defined brands/functions. ● Responsible for monthly closing reports, variance analysis and reconciliations for fixed assets & leases in accordance with US GAAP and covering the SOx framework, and own the compliance aspect regarding this. ● Be responsible for the timely delivery and the integrity of the internal and/or external financial reporting. ● Manage footnote information for SEC filings, as well as information for local statutory filings. ● Supporting internal and external audit requirements. ● Ensuring execution of standardized control procedures, and ensuring internal controls are effectively maintained for assigned tasks ● Develop and review monthly fixed assets & lease metrics/KPIs with business process owners and business stakeholders, to improve processes and resolve issues. ● Manage all applicable SOX documentation, compliance and provide audit support to both internal and external auditors. ● Ensuring SOX compliance by adhering to internal control requirements, maintaining documentation of key processes and controls, and enhancing the control environment with effective controls. ● Partnering with the Global Process Owner on various initiatives. ● Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Tax, FP&A, P2P, Real Estate and Technology. ● Driving improvements to the efficiency of accounting processes and timeliness of deliverables. ● Other duties and special projects as required (e.g., analysis, automation, process standardization, etc.).
Skills & Qualification
Experience in Finance and/or accounting preferably within a Big4 environment and/or multinational corporate environment. Specialized Diploma - Chartered Accountant, Certified Public Accountant(CPA), ACCA ● Sound knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and SOX ● Understanding of US GAAP. Experience with ASC 350-40, and ASC 360. ● Experience with SAP S/4HANA, OneStream, and Blackline ● Experience with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace tools*. ● Experience working with global teams in different time zones. ● Detail-oriented, strong analytical skills. ● Strong written, verbal communication, and presentation skills. ● Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment. ● Accountability and Trust.
