This role is for a Localization Manager in Canada for Airbnb. The primary focus is on developing and executing localization strategies to ensure products and services are well-adapted to local markets, driving international growth. The role requires linguistic and cultural expertise, collaboration with internal teams and external partners, and ensuring a native user experience across platforms. It is not an AI/ML development role.

What you'd actually do

  1. Work closely with the Country Manager, Marketing Lead, Legal Counsel, Director of Business Operations, Policy and Communications to develop business strategies that align with Airbnb’s objectives in your market.
  2. In addition to being the linguistic and cultural expert for the region or market, proactively share the roadmap and the purpose behind product updates to leverage and adopt the global strategy in the target market.
  3. Identify and understand market expectations by developing linguistic strategies that deliver an authentic experience to users in Canada.
  4. Provide linguistic and cultural expertise in developing a strategy to drive international growth, proactively influencing stakeholders to deliver the best possible user experience to the global community.
  5. Lead and drive the localization of product names and creative copy by involving and representing local teams to establish the Airbnb brand well in international markets.
