Operator Apprentice

This is an Operator Apprentice role in a manufacturing facility, focusing on learning to operate machinery and equipment, adhering to safety regulations, and maintaining production standards within a cleanroom environment. It is not directly involved in AI/ML development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Learn how to process material to the required production plan, quality standards and to the applied standard operating procedures
  2. Learn and adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
  3. Assist experienced operators in setting up, operating, and monitoring machinery.
  4. Report any equipment malfunctions or production issues to supervisors.
  5. Maintain a clean and organised work area.

Skills

Required

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
  • Excellent manual dexterity, able to manipulate very small parts with tweezers and other instruments
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer literate with ability to interact with Microsoft or Google office applications and basic data entry
  • GCSE in Maths, English, Science, Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Right to work in the UK and meet eligibility criteria for UK government-funded apprenticeships
