Senior Hardware Test Engineer - Actuation

Apptronik Apptronik · Robotics · HQ · Operations Engineering

This role is for a Senior Hardware Test Engineer focused on the actuation systems of humanoid robots. The engineer will own the validation infrastructure for these systems, defining test strategies, developing automated test software, and ensuring product reliability and manufacturability. The role involves collaborating with various engineering teams, supporting the transition to high-volume manufacturing, and improving test processes. Experience with servo-driven actuators, motion systems, and EtherCAT networks is required.

What you'd actually do

  1. Serve as the technical owner for manufacturing validation of robot actuators
  2. Define the architecture and requirements for actuator test systems and fixtures
  3. Collaborate with controls, hardware, firmware, and systems teams to ensure testability is designed into actuator architectures
  4. Support transition from engineering builds to high-volume manufacturing
  5. Develop and maintain Operator and technician training materials, Test equipment maintenance plans, Calibration procedures, Troubleshooting workflows
