Senior Manager, Simulation

Agility Robotics Agility Robotics · Robotics · Remote · Software Engineering

Agility Robotics is seeking an engineering leader to build and manage a new Simulation team. This role will define the team's charter, roadmap, and infrastructure, working at the intersection of physics simulation, hardware abstraction, and robot learning to support the development of humanoid robots. The leader will architect the hardware abstraction layer, integrate physics simulators, and partner with AI, Controls, and other teams to ensure simulation fidelity and sim-to-real transfer.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and lead a new Simulation team from the ground up — including defining scope, hiring engineers, and establishing team culture and practices
  2. Architect and own the hardware abstraction layer connecting sensors, actuators, and physical hardware to simulation environments
  3. Develop and integrate physics simulators using open-source frameworks, with a focus on fidelity, performance, and sim-to-real transfer
  4. Partner with AI, Controls, Perception Sensors, Hardware Interfaces, and Systems Integration teams to support new robot development and capability expansion
  5. Define what success looks like for simulation at Agility — tooling, workflows, coverage, and metrics — and drive the team to deliver it
