Senior Manufacturing Engineer role focused on sustaining and continuous improvement initiatives in a robotics manufacturing facility. Responsibilities include optimizing production processes, troubleshooting assembly and design issues, implementing lean manufacturing strategies, and driving innovation in robotic assembly. Requires experience with electro-mechanical systems and manufacturing environments.

What you'd actually do

  1. Diagnose and resolve (debug) manufacturing, field, and design issues with focus on electronic assemblies and components, supporting root cause analysis (RCA) and lead corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) for nonconformances.
  2. Lead sustaining engineering efforts by owning the implementation of Engineering Change Orders (ECRs & ECOs) affecting product design, BOMs, and drawings across active product lines.
  3. Author and maintain up-to-date technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, BOMs, work instructions, process flow diagrams, PFMEAs, control plans, and tool/fixture/equipment specifications to support production and service operations.
  4. Disposition of nonconforming material from supplier or production
  5. Develop and execute design updates to improve manufacturability, resolve production and design issues, working cross-functionally with design, test, quality, and supply chain teams.

Skills

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in a commercial, product-driven manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, mechanisms, actuators, PCBAs, and sensors
  • Engineering Change Order (ECO) experience within Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system
  • Experience with Creo or Solidworks
  • Experience with ERP and MES software to manage inventory and production processes
  • Proven ability to mentor and lead engineers and technicians effectively
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration
  • Ability to drive initiatives independently and within teams

Nice to have

  • Windchill experience
  • Proficiency in Python and Linux, and/or C languages
  • Experience developing and implementing manufacturing equipment in production environments (DQ/IQ/OQ/PQ)
