Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Assembly

Apptronik Apptronik · Robotics · HQ · Production

Apptronik is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development, validation, and launch of robust manufacturing processes for their AI-powered humanoid robot, Apollo. This role focuses on ensuring products can be built at scale by defining equipment, tooling, and processes to meet quality, cost, and throughput targets, and championing DFx during early development.

What you'd actually do

  1. Define and qualify technical manufacturing processes and ensure processes meet yield and throughput targets.
  2. Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Assembly (DFA) reviews with R&D. Utilize PFMEA or similar to proactively identify and mitigate technical risks before they reach the factory floor.
  3. Design, procure, and validate custom assembly fixtures, jigs, and specialized production tooling. Ensure all tools meet tight-tolerance requirements and ergonomic standards.
  4. Lead the "technical hand-off" to production by troubleshooting pilot runs, resolving material issues, and qualifying/onboarding Tier-1 Contract Manufacturers (CMs).
  5. Act as a key reviewer in the PLM change management workflow; approve ECOs/MCOs to ensure production readiness.
