Senior Platform Engineer role focused on migrating Booking.com's Payments platform to AWS using Cell Based Architecture principles. The role involves building and maintaining internal platforms with a product mindset, focusing on self-service tools for developers, cloud-native development best practices, and driving system improvements.

What you'd actually do

  1. Implement tools and cloud infrastructure that empower the migration of the Payments platform to a CBA-based AWS environment
  2. Approach the platform as a product, refining tooling to support the product lifecycle and "coding our way out of problems" to address the needs
  3. Implement best practices for cloud-native development, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), microservices, and serverless architectures
  4. Drive continuous improvement in system performance, scalability, and reliability.
  5. Partner with architects, principals and product managers to define technical requirements; mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing
