Senior Product Manager for Toast's consumer payments, focusing on strategy, roadmap, and execution for payment experiences across the Toast ecosystem. This role involves defining and driving innovation in card payments, stored value, guest checkout, loyalty-linked payments, and emerging payment methods to improve both guest experience and restaurant economics. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with various teams including Engineering, Design, Data, Risk, Operations, and Legal, and emphasizes strong product judgment, technical fluency, and leadership in an ambiguous environment. The role also involves evaluating the use of AI tools to enhance product development processes.

What you'd actually do

  1. Own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for Consumer Payments, aligning near-term execution with Toast’s long-term strategy.
  2. Define the end-to-end consumer payment experience across areas such as wallet, stored value, guest checkout, rewards-linked payments, and emerging lower-cost payment methods.
  3. Partner with Consumer and Guest teams to create payment experiences that are seamless, intuitive, and habit-forming for diners across Toast surfaces.
  4. Work closely with other Payment teams, Risk, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to design solutions that are compliant, scalable, and economically compelling.
  5. Drive product discovery and prioritization grounded in customer needs, business impact, technical feasibility, and strategic differentiation.

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years of product management experience
  • significant experience in payments, fintech, consumer payments, wallets, or other complex platform businesses
  • Track record of defining, building, and scaling products in ambiguous, cross-functional environments
  • Strong understanding of digital payments, wallets, stored value, alternative payment methods, or consumer fintech ecosystems
  • Ability to balance customer experience, technical complexity, risk and compliance constraints, and business economics
  • Strong technical fluency and comfort partnering deeply with engineering on architecture, APIs, dependencies, and rollout planning
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and align cross-functional teams
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to move fluidly between detail and big-picture strategy

Nice to have

  • Experience building wallet, stored value, prepaid, debit, or rewards-linked payment products
  • Familiarity with merchant economics, cost-of-acceptance levers, or alternative payment rails such as ACH or pay by bank
  • Experience in hospitality, commerce, or local marketplace products
  • Experience with marketplace, network, loyalty, or two-sided platform models
