We’re looking for a Senior Security Engineer to join our Detection & Response team. You will help protect Snap by improving our ability to detect, investigate, and respond to sophisticated threats across endpoints, infrastructure, networks, and cloud environments.
What you’ll do
- Build threat models and improve detection coverage across the environment
- Design logging, detection, and alerting systems
- Build automation and tooling for threat hunting and incident response
- Investigate alerts and support security incident response
- Partner across teams to respond to threats effectively
- Turn threat intelligence and research into practical detection outcomes
What we’re looking for
Experience in detection and response, incident response, forensics, malware analysis, or threat intelligence
Strong coding skills in Python and/or Go
Deep systems knowledge, with expertise in at least two of: macOS, Windows, Linux, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP
Strong communication, sound judgement, and a collaborative mindset
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience
6+ years of relevant security experience, or Master’s degree with 5+ years, or PhD with 2+ years
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in threat hunting and detection engineering
- Familiarity with Google Cloud, Google Workspace, and AWS
- Experience working cross-functionally in complex environments
