This role is for a Sr. Project Manager focused on the permitting process for Axon's ALPR (Automatic License Plate Recognition) infrastructure deployments. The primary responsibility is to manage and accelerate the permitting process by navigating regulatory hurdles, standardizing workflows, and ensuring compliance across multiple jurisdictions in the U.S. The role involves engaging with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs), leading strategy, reducing risk, and collaborating with engineering, deployment, legal, and customer success teams.

What you'd actually do

  1. Build and maintain proactive relationships with permitting and zoning officials nationwide
  2. Own end-to-end permitting workflows across multiple states and municipalities
  3. Identify permitting barriers early and implement mitigation strategies
  4. Act as a core partner to engineering, deployment, legal, and customer success
  5. Interpret, anticipate, and influence local and regional permitting dynamics

Skills

Required

  • 8+ years managing infrastructure, utility, or construction permitting in enterprise or public-sector environments
  • Demonstrated expertise with NEC, NFPA, zoning, environmental regulations
  • Track record of influencing internal stakeholders and external regulators
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and process-building capabilities
  • Proven ability to lead in complex, multi-jurisdictional environments
